Hall of Shame – 6th June
Here’s some examples of what not to do! We teamed up with Crap Electrical UK to showcase some of the biggest electrical tragedies around.
While many electricians and electrical engineers are fully qualified and do a great job, there are still some people out there who do shocking work (sometimes literally!) and the results can be disastrous.
Here’s some examples of what not to do! We teamed up with Crap Electrical UK to showcase some of the biggest electrical tragedies around.
Simon Wilderspin-Allen found this beauty: “Time to start pulling the cables in.”
Stewart Stephen spotted this fishtank – sorry, lightbulb.
Stewart was shellshocked as he also found this one!
David Cowan found this in a bungalow. He said: “The customer thought they had a partial rewire done on the downstairs ring by the last sparks! They replaced all the cables coming down to the sockets and crimped the old ones through in the loft. They have done the ‘hardest’ bit… why not take the tails back to the board?”
Crap Electrical UK is a Facebook group with around 4,000 members. It is run by Charles Billington, Lee Quince, Simon Allen, Lewis Boddington, Dave Spencer, Jake Simmons and Samuel Miles.
If you’ve come across a nightmare installation, send your pictures to us and they could be featured on the next article – or in the magazine.
