Get Ready for National Apprenticeship Week with SPARKS Magazine! Kickoff: National Apprenticeship Week, 5th – 11th Feb!
It’s Day Two of National Apprenticeship Week! We asked those in the industry for their tips on how social media can benefit your career.
SparkyNinja, who featured in our Winter Issue, recommended exploring more than one platform of social media, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube – and says that he still learns more from the community every day.
Explore all the channels of communication social media has to offer, don't just stick with one.
I've got 1000's of people on my own social media platforms such as my Facebook groups and a discord server and I learn from them every day. pic.twitter.com/pXujZC4KGM

YouTuber and lecturer Joe Robinson stressed the importance of having a reputable profile, as employers or interviewers may check this – make sure you keep it professional.
Make sure any of your public social media is squeaky clean. Employers sometimes check your social media presence to see if there's anything they wouldn't want their employees involved in. If it's public, keep it professional and show your work skills.

Dan Jackson recommends using social media to ask for advice and learn from others.
Tip: reach out to people within the industry and just chatting about their experience and asking for advice. There's plenty of guys willing to give some time to help others along the way

Connexbox recommends using LinkedIn to showcase your skills to prospective employers.
We would encourage all apprentices to create an active profile on LinkedIn that is self-reflective and authentic, and use it to show prospective employers who they are and what they have to offer.
