Meet November’s SPARKS Learner of the Month winner!

sparks learner of the month

Adam Walker is our November SPARKS Learner of the Month winner- We caught up with him to find out what it means to win.

Adam is 28 years old and is studying Level 3 Electrical Installation at Oldham College. He is currently gaining work experience at CJK Building and Electrical Services.

Adam describes the photo of the work he submitted for the award. “The photo I uploaded was of a second consumer unit that I fitted in a garage, fed by steel wire armoured cable. The unit feeds roller shutters, sockets and lights.”

We asked Adam how it feels to have won the award for his work. “My work being recognised by this award fills me with pride and a sense of achievement. It is also nice to be recognised by my peers and spurs me on to progress with my chosen profession.”

The award was sponsored by DeWalt who donated a combi drill to Adam. “I will be using the DeWalt drill on the re-wire of the three-storey house I am currently working on as there are still a lot of floor beams to drill through.”

When talking about the future, Adam went on to say, “I hope to become a successful electrician with a good reputation for being reliable, trustworthy and delivering to a high standard. I enjoy the different challenges that I face on each job which are never the same!”

Congratulations Adam! Entries are now open for the December award, with a Megger Proving Unit on offer to the winner!

To enter, electrical students and apprentices must tag us in a photo of their work on social media and use #SPARKSLOTM. Our favourites (up to a maximum of eight) then go to a public vote at the end of the month before a winner is crowned. For full entry info, click here.
