North West-based Total People is offering free traineeships to young people to help them prepare for a career in the electrical industry.

Employers across a wide range of industry areas, including the electrical sector, are working with North West-based Total People to offer 16 to 24-year-olds (or 25-year olds with an education, health and care plan) the chance to get work-ready and get a head start in their career.

Fully funded by the Government, traineeships are a combination of work experience and study with a guaranteed 70 hours of work experience. This means trainees can develop their confidence and skills in the workplace while being supported by a dedicated team at Total People.

Total People trainees also benefit from sector focused vocational learning in preparation for an apprenticeship or job, and gain a clear idea of what a career in that industry would be like while establishing key industry links.

In addition, Total People provides support to help them to improve English, maths and digital skills.

Melanie Nicholson, Managing Director of Total People, said: “Traineeships are a fantastic opportunity for both young people and employers alike, and are a pathway which can lead to an apprenticeship, further education or employment.

“Young people wanting to get work-ready can gain valuable knowledge and skills in a real work environment from qualified and experienced individuals.

“Our established links with a wide range of sector employers mean that we can tailor traineeships to individual business and wider sector requirements, while also preparing learners for the requirements of the local job market.

“Our dedicated Total People team can help at every step of the programme so whether you are an employer or young person interested in traineeships, call us on 0371 705 2727.”
