Have you ever wondered how to become a Building Energy Management Systems engineer?

Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) are a specialist skill in the field of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC). It is a fact there is a shortage of good BEMS engineers and up until now there has not been an independent career path in BEMS.

This pathway is currently managed and delivered by the Building Controls Industry Association for people wanting to become controls engineers. However, if you are involved with BEMS, an end user, or an electrical or mechanical engineer wishing to find out more about BEMS Blackbuck Training have developed a two-day course entitled “Understanding BEMS” held at the BCIA’s training venue in Peterborough.

The course is a plain English introduction to some of the terminology, applications and the requirements needed to become a BEMS engineer, it is not a formal qualification but helps students understand BEMS and decide if they would be suited to a career in building controls.

Blackbuck Ltd was created to support the BEMS industry, Steve Harrison continues to do this as the BCIA’s training manager, past President and over twenty-five years in the BEMS sector.
