A care home has just been refurbished with products from Scolmore’s wiring accessories collection being specified and installed throughout the facility.

Mill Lodge Care Home in Kegworth, Derbyshire, is a 27-bedroom former NHS care home which provides secure inpatient care for adults.

The property, which is now owned by Rushcliffe Care Group, is a single storey building made up of four main wings and comprising 27 bedrooms, four main corridors, kitchens and dining facilities and a range of offices and clinical support rooms.

Scolmore’s Deco Plus switches and sockets in a black nickel finish were selected for the bedrooms – with three light switches and double sockets in each room – as well as for all the corridors and nurses’ stations.

Launched last year, Deco Plus is a comprehensive range of more than 800 premium decorative metal wiring accessories that builds on the huge success of the classic Deco range – first launched in 2003 – and introduces smooth, contemporary curves that will have wide-ranging appeal with contractors, specifiers and end users alike.

For the main kitchen, four satellite kitchens and offices, the Click Mode range has been installed. The smooth modern lines of the Mode range complement the Deco Plus products utilised. All white moulded and CLICK Mode Part M wiring accessories are manufactured using Urea Formaldehyde and are all independently tested achieved a 99.99% kill off rate across all four types of the strains of bacteria.

Simon Bell from SB Electrical, the contractor responsible for the specification and installation of Scolmore products, said: “I’ve been using the Click Mode range of wiring accessories since the first time the range was launched. The flexibility to integrate different inserts onto a plate was quite unique at the time and I now can’t remember a time when I used anything else.

“Scolmore is a great company to work with; the products are a great quality and really robust. I’ve been involved in a lot of the DIY SOS makeover projects and never hesitate to recommend Scolmore’s wiring accessories and lighting products when I can.”
