The search for the next SPARKS UK Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2018 has begun.
Since 2010, the SPARKS UK Electrical Apprentice of the Year competition has given students a chance to be recognised for their hard work and skills, whilst at the same time providing a great opportunity for lecturers and leading industry manufacturers to get involved and support the next generation of installers.
Alongside the prestige for both student and college of winning a UK competition, there’s a fantastic list of prizes which have been donated by well known industry names including Platinum sponsor Schneider-Electric and 3M. Keep checking here to see who else will be confirmed for 2018 competition.
How can you enter?
You can enter one Level 2 or 3 student to take part in a regional heat, provided they are 24 or under (at the time of application) and they’ve successfully completed last year’s test paper which can be downloaded here. Why not hold an in-house competition?

North East – Newcastle College, Tuesday 16th January 2018
North West – Burnley College, Thursday 18th January 2018
South West – Petroc College, Tuesday 23rd January 2018
Wales – Gower College Swansea, Thursday 25th January 2018
Midlands – Stephenson College, Tuesday 13th February 2018
South East – West Herts College, Thursday 15th February 2018
Northern Ireland – Belfast Metropolitan College, Wednesday 28th February 2018
What happens next?
The winner of each regional heat, plus the student who has received the highest overall regional score, will go forward to the grand final which will be held at the 3M Customer Innovation Centre in Bracknell on 11th – 12th April 2018.
